Satellite Image of Area 51

Area 51, also know as Groom Lake or Homey Airport (ICAO: KXTA) is a remote detachment of Edwards. According to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the correct names for the Area 51 has been used in official CIA documentation. Other names used for the facility include Dreamland, Paradise Ranch, Home Base, Water town Strip, and most recently Homey Airport. The area around the field is referred to as (R- 4808 N) it is located in the southern portion of Nevada in the Western United States, 83 miles (133 km) North-Northwest of La's Vegas. Situated at its center, on the southern shore of Groom Lake is a large military airfield. The base's current primary purpose is officially undetermined. however, based on historical evidence, It most likely support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapon systems. the intense secrecy surrounding the base has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component to Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) folklore. Although the base has never been declared a secret base, all researches and occurring in Area 51 are Top Secret / Sensitive Compartment Information (TS / SCI).

Aliens in Area 51?

Many believe that Area 51 is where scientist's reverse engineered alien technology that was recovered from crashes saucers in Roswell, New Mexico. oddly, there seems to be no evidence that the Pentagon has made use of any such advanced technology. "60 Minutes" correspondent Leslie Stahl suggested that the area was not UFO related but instead a dumping ground for toxic waste. acknowledged for nearly 20 years. It is secret military base, and there are, of course Perfectly Legitimate.

Mysterious Nazca Lines

Nazca Lines

The Nazca (also spelled Nasca) Lines are geoglyphs located in an arid Coastal Area of Peru that cover an estimated 170 square miles (450 square kilometers).

Scratched on the ground, they number in the thousands and depict creatures from both the natural world and the human imagination. They include animals such as the spider, hummingbird, monkey, lizard, pelican and even killer whale. Also illustrated are geometric motifs such as wavy lines, triangle, spirals and rectangles.

Some of the Nazca Lines, mysterious geoglyphs that span a vast swath of the rugged Peruvian Desert, may have once been a labyrinth with a spiritual purpose, a new study suggests.

The new insight, published in the December issue of the journal Antiquity, came because two archaeologist decided to use a decidedly low-tech method to understand the sand drawing's ancient secrets by walking it.

At the time the Nazca Lines, which span 85 square miles (220 square kilometers), were drawn, "people were not looking at this stuff from the air, they were looking at stuff form the ground level," said Timothy Ingold, a cultural anthropologist at the University of Aberdeen, who was not involved in the study. "To appreciate what they might have meant to ordinary people, then you have to walk them."

While that seems like an obvious first step, in actually, very few archaeologists have studied the Nazca Lines from that vantage point, because most of the pictures drawn out by the lines are only visible from foothills above or from space.

The Nazca Lines have been a mystery since they were first discovered in the 1920's by Peruvian Archaeologist Toribio Mejia Xesspa. Long forgotten people from the 'Nasca' culture created the drawings between 200 B.C. and A.D. 500 by brushing away the dark top layer of barren desert to reveal the light, sandy oil underneath, wrote Clive Ruggles, an archaeologist from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, in an email. The dry, windless climate has preserved most of the carvings . Hundreds of depictions of animal shapes such as jaguars and monkeys, as well as geometric design to this day.

But just why ancient people suggested it was an alien landing strip, a primitive sun calendar, or an irrigation system.

"There is no simple answer. Different geoglyphs were clearly created over a significant period of time and almost certainly had a variety of meaning and purposes," Clive Ruggles wrote

The Mystery of Stonehenge

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is an Enigmatic Prehistory Monument located on a chalky plain north of the modern day city of Salisbury, England. It was started 5,000 years ago and modified by ancient Britons over a period of 1,000 years. Its purpose continues to be a MYSTERY.

The biggest of its stones, known as Sarsens, are up to 30 feet (9 meters) tall and weight 25 tons (22.6 metric tons) on average. It is widely believed that they were brought from Marlborough Downs, a distance of 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the north. Smaller stones, referred to as "Blue Stones" (they have a bluish tinge when wet or freshly broken), weight up to 4 tons and most of them appear to have come form the Preseli Hills in Western Wales, a distance of 156 miles (250 Kilometer). It's unknown how people in antiquity moved them that far, water transport was probably used for part of the journey. Recently, scientist have raised the possibility that during the last ice age glaciers carried these Blue Stones closer to the Stonehenge area and the monument's makers didn't have to move them all the way form Wales.

Before Stonehenge

Although construction of Stonehenge began about 5,000 years ago, the area appears to have been of symbolic importance for a much longer period of time.

As early as 10,500 years ago three large pine posts, which were totem poles of sorts, were erected at the site. Then around 5,500 years ago two earthworks known as Cursus monument were erected, the longest of which ran for 1.8 miles (3 km). The purpose of these structures is UNKNOWN.
